Sunless Tanning Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Is airbrush tanning safe?
A: Yes. DHA is the ingredient in sunless tanning solutions has been approved for cosmetic use by the FDA since the 1960's. It is considered non-toxic and non-carcinogenic. DHA based sunless tanners have been recommended by the Skin Cancer Organization, American Academy of Dermatology, Canadian Dermatology Association, The American Cancer Society and the American Medical Association.
Q: How long will my spray tan last?
A: Your tan will fade naturally and evenly in about 5-10 days. The longevity of your tan will be determined by a number of factors including how quickly your skin naturally exfoliates. You can prolong your tan by using a good moisturizer which will help slow the natural exfoliation process. Hot showers, hot tubs, saunas and swimming tend to dry your skin and shorten your sunless tan.
Q: Do I still need to wear sunscreen?
A: Yes. Sunless tanning does not provide any UV protection and we recommend that you always protect yourself by using a good quality sunscreen.
Q: How often should I get spray tanned?
A: Our recommendation is every 7-10 days with a week or two break every 3-5 weeks to prevent build-up.
Q: How long does it take to get tan?
A: The actual appointment takes a little less than 30 minutes from the time we walk in and set up until we leave. The actual spray tanning itself takes about 10-15 minutes. Our rapid tanning solution stays on your skin from 2-4 hours. It takes almost 24 hours for the tan to fully develop, so we recommend doing your spray tan one to two days prior to your event.
